Cody Grayson used to enjoy going to summer camp every year. But, since he just turned seventeen, the idea seems childish to him. However, his mother asks him to go one last time, and after a lot of coaxing (and a little bit of threatening) he agrees. While walking on an unused trail, Cody slips and stumbles into a small, dry creek bed, and a secret that not only affects him, but the entire human race. He claims it was coincidence. But why did it happen to HIM, at a camp whose motto is "Everything happens for a reason"? Cody soon discovers that coincidence is a lie, and fate is the only thing he can rely on, all because of stupid, fateful summer camp.
